SSgt Diaz was reassigned to a Marine Corps Special Operation Command detachment operating elsewhere in Afghanistan. After several weeks, we received word that he was killed in action doing what he loved most: protecting his fellow Marines.
Chris left behind two children: Jeremy and Mia. They lost a father, but they gained a family, though they may be too young to realize it. 3D Platoon has decided to run the Marine Corps Marathon in October 2012 and to raise money leading up to the race in order to establish a college fund for Jeremy and Mia.
