Paul DeBruyn Memorial 40th Annual 5K / Half-Marathon

Event Summary:
Celebrate the 81th Anniversary of Paul DeBruyn's Boston Marathon victory by racing in the 5k or Half-Marathon... a perfect date & distance to get you ready for the marathon season. The Half-Marathon will start at 6:00AM and the 5K will start at 7:00AM. Lots of shade & water stations as you wind your way through the scenic beachside community of New Smyrna Beach and then finish with some great food, beverages, and entertainment.
Event Details:

Start: The start will be just down the street from the Brannon Center. The Half-Marathon course will take you across the South Causeway Bridge twice, down the beach, and on the boardwalk. The 5K route will be down Riverside Dr. to 9th St and come back towards the Brannon center on Live Oak.  This is a run/walk event, but we do encourage walkers to participate in the 5K due to traffic and time. 

Proceeds: The race benefits the Luekemia & Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

Registration: Registration and Packet Pick-up will begin at 5:00 AM and end at 5:45 AM for the Half-Marathon and registration will begin at 5:00 AM and end at 6:30 AM for the 5K. Registration will be held at the Brannon Center at 105 S. Riverside Dr.

Price: Online registration will be opened until November 12th at 11:00 PM. Registration for the 5K is $20.00 for DBTC Members and $25.00 for Non-DBTC Members. Any race day registration is $30.00 for members and non-members. Mail in registration is the same is price as online as long as the DBTC receives the payment by November 15th.

Any race day registration is $70.00 for members and non-members. Mail in registration is the same is price as online as long as the DBTC receives the payment by November 15th.

Virtual Half-Marathon pricing is $65.00 and will not be available online after November 12, 2013 at 11:00PM. Once you have completed your run please email the Track Club with your time and date. Pictures are a great way to send this information. Your t-shirt and medal will be sent out shortly after the race.

Food: There will be refreshments and drinks at the end of the race.

T-Shirts: Beautiful short sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 150 pre-registered runners. Shirt availability and size are not guaranteed after that.

Finish: All Half-Marathon finishers will receive a medal at the finish line.

Cut-off Time: There will be a 3:30 hour cut-off time for anyone doing either race. Please ensure that you are able to do under a 16.5 minute per mile.

Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 Male and Female Overall Winners, the top Male and Female Masters Winners, and three-deep Male and Female Age Group finishers in 10 year increments starting with 1-9, 10-19, 20-29 and continue to 75+. The Half-Marathon awards will start will 1-19 and go up from there until 70+.

Parking: Parking is available at the Brannon Center, Utilities Commission Building, and the Courthouse parking lot.

Course: The 5K and Half-Marathon course maps are on the Daytona Beach Track Club website homepage and Paul de Bruyn race series page.

Location: The course starts on Magnolia and the Finish is at the Brannon Center. Packet pick up will be in the park at the Brannon Center. Everyone will walk together to the start line.
