Summary:
Katie's 5K is consist of a 5Km run and 1 mile run/walk. It is in New Germany State Park in Western Maryland, near Grantsville off of I68. The 5K is run on 1/3 park road and 2/3 trail. The 1 mi. is mostly park road. Unique awards are made by a re-knowned potter and friend from Penn Alps. Proceeds support 2 $500 scholarships to senior B/G runners and various club and HS awards. It is a beautiful setting and a great and unique experience supported by the community of runners.
Event Details:
Katie's 5K is in the memory of our beloved daughter who loved to run and in August of 1998 was struck by a speeding car in Frostburg, MD doing what she loved. Katie was an organ donor and saved the lives of 5 people. Proceeds support 2 $500 scholarships to senior B/G runners and various club and HS awards. The runs consist of a 5Km run and 1 mile run/walk.
