Event Details:Course: Easy going paved trails and roads with some rolling hills in a beautiful park setting. Potential deer and wildlife sightings.
Location: Shawnee Mission Park by “Theater in the Park”, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee, KS 66062. Race starts and finishes at Theatre in the Park.
Start time: 8:30 a.m. Chip timing will be used.
Packet Pickup: Friday, November 13, from noon to 7 p.m. at Garry Gribble's Running Sports (Stoll Park), at 119th St. & Quivira Rd. Or on race day starting at 8am.
Shirts: Well-designed long sleeve technical t-shirts for all participants that enter prior to October 31. No guarantee of a shirt or proper size for later registrants. Cotton T’s for youth size.
Food: We will have hot food and drinks for all participants. Yum!
Charity 1: Harvesters Community Food Network. Optional - Bring one or more of "most needed items" for Harvesters or donate funds. Race proceeds will be donated to Harvesters. See our website for details.
Additional Charity: Braden Hofen Fund.
Braden Hofen was diagnosed with Stage IV, high risk
neuroblastoma on December 28, 2007 at the age of 3. Braden was given a 30% chance for survival at that time. He went through six high dose rounds of chemotherapy, an autologous bone marrow transplant, radiation therapy, and follow up therapies. Braden was declared to be in remission but merely a few months later, only a few weeks from his fifth birthday, his cancer relapsed. Braden now has only a 10% chance for survival. Braden is undergoing medical treatments both at
Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and at the Children's Hopsital of Philadelphia. Braden and his family appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, and hopes for a miracle! Thank you!
